The exhibition entitled "The Four Seasons" (2nd September 2003 - 6th January 2004) comprises more than 60 paintings, sculptures and embroideries taken from the Max Fourny collection.

As an introduction to the show, an embroidery in the entrance hall entitled Leisure Activities by English artist Jane Beadle Bely, depicts the way the seasons affect different aspects of nature and daily life.

The exhibition is hung in five separate rooms, the first four of which represent winter, autumn, summer and spring in that order. The fifth room presents atypical or quirky views based on the main seasonal theme.

In the Winter Room, the Yugoslavian painter Stavios Josip and the Croatian artist Lackovic Ivan depict winter scenes in fresh hues using the 'frame and glaze' technique.

Among the exhibits of the Autumn Room, an embroidery by French born Félicia Ducroquet called The Bride goes First uses different embroidery techniques and various thread thicknesses, to give perspective.

In the Summer Room, the luxurious landscapes and generous colours of Brazilian and Haitian artists show a bright, dreamlike vision of summer.

In the Spring Room, Canadian painter Cécile Emond's work Lilac Time is a busy composition made up of a multitude of different scenes all taking place in different spaces.

The final Atypical Room, on the upper floor, offers original, even eccentric representations of spring and summer where animals and vegetation take on unconventional forms.

A permanent exhibition of murals can be seen in the orchard adjoining the Museum garden.
